Mansfield University Home PageState Act 235 requires that any person who is privately employed and required as a condition of employment to carry a lethal weapon must be certified.
This 40-hour training program will enable you to become a:
- security guard
- armored truck guard
- alarm response guard
- night watch person
- private investigator
This training program is offered twice in the calendar year, typically in the spring and fall. Classes are held on two consecutive weekends. The cost is currently $200.
Mansfield University also conducts recertification classes for those who have received Lethal Weapons Training. These classes are generally scheduled twice a year and are currently held on a Saturday. Recertification requires eight hours of training every five years, consisting of 3 hours of academic renewal and 5 hours of firearms renewal. The cost is currently $100.
