Educational opportunities for the "whole family". Parents and children work together on educational goals.
Our Family Literacy program provides parents and children the chance to work together on educational goals. Our classes are FREE and open to the public. Family Literacy is based on the following goals:
- Children are prepared for success in school
- Parents are their children's first and most important teachers
- Adults have the opportunity to reach their educational goals and enhance skills needed for employment
- Parents become advocates for their children
- Families become self-sufficient and break the cycle of dependence on public assistance
Family Literacy services are available for families meeting the following eligibility guidelines:
- Parents who are eligible for participation in an adult education program
- Children from birth to eight years old
- Families seeking parent-child learning activities
Classes are located throughout the county in convenient locations and at a variety of times.
