Our ABE/GED programs started in 1985. The ABE/GED programs have grown and have helped hundreds of Tioga County Residents with FREE Adult Education classes as well as family education.
The goal of our ABE/GED program is to:

help people become literate and obtain the knowledge and skills necessary for employment
- help parents obtain the educational skills necessary to become full partners in the education of their children
- assist adults to qualify for the high school equivalency (GED) exam
Each year over 200 adults from Tioga County attend classes to:

gain the speaking, listening, reading, writing, thinking, and math skills needed for job readiness and foundational work skills
- obtain computer skills
- learn how to become an active partner in their children's education and learning
- learn English as a second language
- obtain problem solving and thinking skills to meet demands
- study to pass the GED high school equivalency test
- be assisted by a one-on-one tutor
- attend Parenting and PACT time classes
