The camp is open to junior high school and high school age percussionists. Students will be grouped according to age and ability.
All participants will receive individual instruction as well as in small groups. Camp participants will participate in an intensive 5 days of percussion. Solos, duets, quartets, and percussion ensembles, including some drum line experience will be included. Recitals by faculty and students. Core topics include snare drum and multi-percussion, drum set, mallet percussion, timpani, repertoire, sight-reading, listening, ensemble performance, practice, learning and more.
Camp faculty include:
- Dr. Adam F. Brennan - Director - degrees from The University of Oklahoma (Instrumental Conducting) and Western Illinois University (Master of composition and Bachelor of Music Education).
- Mr. Ryan Pritchard - co-director - degrees from Mansfield University in Music Education and Instrumental Conducting
Camp counselors are selected MU alumni and music majors. The counselor to camper ratio is less than 10:1. Students and counselors live in the campus residence hall and eat in the campus dining room.
