"Developing Tomorrow's leaders at all ages through our Summer Youth Leadership Institute"
Mansfield University's Summer Youth Leadership Institute will give children ages 12 - 14 the opportunity to explore Leadership concepts through informative learning sessions, keynote speakers, as well as hands-on activities.
Dates: Summer 2009 to be announced
Cost: $275/week for resident campers (includes food, lodging, and program) $75 non-refundable deposit required with application or on-line registration.

Throughout the week participants will engage in learning sessions conducted by current Leadership Practitioners focused on a variety of Leadership Skills. Participants in Mansfield University's Summer Youth Leadership Institute will aid in the development of new leadership skill as well as further developing existing skills. Mansfield University's Summer Youth Leadership Institute will build the student's skills and increase the student's knowledge to assist them with becoming the leader they want to be!
Mansfield University's Summer Youth Leadership Institute will build the student's skills and increase their knowledge to assist them with becoming the leader they want to be! This development of personal leadership skills will strengthen students who are willing to assume leadership roles in their schools, communities, and organizations.
By the end of the Summer Youth Leadership Institute, students will be able to:
- Articulate what leadership is and isn't!
- Identify key elements of leadership (goal setting, ethics, communication, integrity, motivation)!
- Identify personal leadership skills and traits in themselves!
Meet Your Director
Tessa Bieber, originally from Turbotville, PA is currently pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice with minors in Chemistry and Forensic Science at Mansfield University. As a leader herself, she has graduated from the Mountaineer Leadership Program, is a Resident Assistant, a first year experience peer mentor, and has attended and served as an intern, mentor, and logistics coordinator of the Make A Difference Youth Leadership Conference in Central Pennsylvania. She is also involved in Leo Club, Student Government, and Environmental Awareness Club. She works with Colleges Against Cancer planning PA Youth Summit and Relay for Life on campus. She is MU's Student Trustee and works for the Police Academy and Campus Ministries organizing community service projects. She can't wait for this summer to help young members of the community discover their own leadership possibilities.
