Mansfield University offers a week of gifted camp for high school students who wish to continue to have the opportunity to engage in an exciting, stimulating environment to improve their academic talents.

The concept behind this high school program is to make learning fun and easy and provide positive peer support in a supportive educational environment. The classes held this week will be more challenging and demanding.

Meet Our New Camp Director!

In my second year as camp director, I am excited to meet with returning campers and welcome new ones! With lots of new ideas, based on your suggestions and my leadership's brainstorming, camp will take on a new look this year.

First, we have a common theme this year of Welcome to Hollywood. All of the courses are tied to a movie, TV show or event in this magical city. Secondly, we are "beefing up the academics" based on your request! The classes will be more intellectually stimulating in Periods One and Three, with Period Two being more athletically or creatively focused. The evenings and free time will also be restructured to benefit each child this year and to encourage more social interaction. Before you come to camp you will receive a list of all the events so that you may bring any and all items you will need to be prepared. My counselors and I are excited to return to camp this summer and I hope you are, too!

Our Staff: Our instructors are college professors, public school teachers, or professionals with expertise and a sincere interest in working with children. Counselors spend 24 hours a day with the campers. Our 1:10 ratio of counselors provides a safe, educational experience. Campers reside in a Mansfield University residence hall.

This year offers new hightlights including themed evenings, more recreational time offerings, and in place of a camp play, students will be producting camp commercials, which allow them to write, act, film and edit! Your child will choose three academic offerings from a variety of classes. "Click here" for a listing of our 2010 classes. Parents and friends are welcome to attend the closing spotlight performed by the students at the conclusion of each week of camp.
