Camp Cadet provides an atmosphere of a police academy and emphasizes self discipline.
An exciting residential camp for children ages 12-13 will take place the week of June 22-26, 2009 at Mansfield University.
To qualify for the cadet program, applicants must be residents of Cameron, Potter, or Tioga Counties, Pennsylvania. Applicants must be in good physical condition, age 12 through 13, and willing to accept military discipline.
The Northern Tier Camp Cadet is designed to create a better understanding between the youths of the three county area and professional law enforcement. The camp provides an atmosphere of a police academy and emphasizes self discipline.
Cadets will participate in tactical team exercises, crime scene processing, communications, orienteering, and swimming. Campers will speak with and develop an understanding of the role and job responsibilities that municipal officers, probation officers, state troopers, and other members of the law enforcement community perform.
