No other camp
is designed to meet the needs of the young and beginning musician
as our Youth Music Camp.
Mansfield
University's Youth Music Camp is designed for musical exploration,
experimentation, growth, and fun for musicians of a variety of levels
of ability and interest.
The Youth
Music Camp at Mansfield University continues to provide outstanding
musical experiences to young musicians ages 10 - 14. Offering performing
experiences on instruments and voice to all campers, the Mansfield
University Youth Music Camp also provides its participants with opportunities
to explore other musical mediums. Campers may elect to learn other
instruments, select from a variety of music classes and participate
in the production of a musical. Any camper participating in band or
orchestra should have at least one full year of training on their
instrument to ensure their success and enjoyment in the experience.
In addition, each camper receives private instruction and master classes.
An excellent opportunity for young musicians to immerse themselves
in music and explore the opportunities that await them.

All students
receive one-half hour private lesson on their instrument
or voice. One additional lesson is available, for an extra fee, on
a limited basis depending on the instructor's schedule at $20 per
half hour.
Our Staff:
All campers
are supervised 24 hours per day by camp counselors
and faculty; we keep our campers involved in supervised activities
throughout the day. All camp counselors (and a good portion of our
teaching faculty) live in the residence halls with the campers! The
ratio of supervision is one counselor to every 10 participants. If
you include teaching faculty, that ratio becomes one adult to every
three campers. Your child will benefit from this wonderful enrichment
program.
The Camp
Musical
will be performed on Friday and an ensembles concert on Saturday morning.
For a minimal charge, parents may then join their children for lunch
in Manser Dining Hall before departing.
