NEW! Mansfield University is now offering Leadership Development Workshops as Non-Credit Courses
Workshops will be offered throughout the semester and are offered to the community through Mansfield University's Center for Lifelong Learning and Career Development Center. Students will participate in sessions offered through Mansfield University's Mountaineer Leadership Program, Career Series Workshops, and Career Blast activities. Workshop registrations can be purchased individually or in a package for individuals or businesses. Check our complete Spring 2008 listing. NEW! Mansfield University now offers On-Line Career Training Programs and Non-Credit courses through Gatlin Education Services. These courses are asynchronous web-based training which means that there is no commuting to classrooms, and you 'attend class' when it works for you!
Our Career Training Programs offer coursework in a specific field of study such as Healthcare, Business, Computer Training and more. Following completion of select programs, participants are prepared and eligible to sit for professional certification exams.
The eLearning Center provides participants the ability to develop a specific skill or competency through Non-Credit Courses.

Child Abuse Recognition (NY State Certification)
After attending this program the learner will be able to: define what constitutes "abuse", "maltreatment", and "neglect" according to the NY State Family Court Act and Social Service Laws; distinguish among a variety of behavioral and environmental characteristics of indicators of physical abuse, maltreatment, neglect, and sexual abuse; describe what constitutes "reasonable cause to suspect"; outline possible procedures for making a report of child abuse; and list the invention strategies for each potential risk factor.

Project SAVE (NY State Certification)
School Violence Prevention and Intervention Workshop. A requirement for certification in teaching within New York State. Strongly recommended for everyone affiliated in teaching children. This 2-hour course will include the following: warning signs that relate to violence and other troubling behavior in students; statutes, regulations and policies relating to safe school climate; effective classroom management techniques; integration of social and problem solving development; participation in effective school/community referral process for students exhibiting violent behavior.

ServSafe Food Safety Certification
ServSafe is a certification program developed by the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation. This course meets certification requirements for individuals who are responsible for the safe handling of food in restaurants, school, concessions. Self Defense Course for Women (8 hours)
Our certified Sexual Harassment and Rape Prevention (SHARP) instructor will teach you the skills needed to prevent becoming a victim of sexual harassment or sexual assault. You will also learn defensive counter techniques in the even an assault should occur. This course is primarily hands-on and open to all females over the age of 16.
