Saxophone Camp


 

 



Excellent instruction by certified music professionals!

Dates: June 29 - July 3, 2008
Ages: Beginner to Adult
Residential Fee: $275 (includes instruction, meals, & lodging)
Commuter Fee: $225 (includes instruction, lunch, & dinner)

Participate in an intensive five days of saxophone. Solos, duets, quartets, and saxophone choir. Recitals by faculty and students. Topics include auditioning, technique, tone, reeds and other equipment topics, repertoire, sight reading, doubling, jazz, listening, teaching and learning.

The course is open to all levels of saxophonists, from beginners through college students and adults. Students will be grouped according to age and ability.

All participants will receive individual instruction as well as in small groups.

Camp faculty include:

  • Dr. Joseph Murphy, degrees from Bowling Green State University , Northwestern University, and Bordeaux Conservatory
  • Kevin Hoferer, degrees from University of Northern Iowa, Eastern Illinois University, and University of Oregon

Camp counselors are selected MU alumni and music majors. The camper to counselor ratio is less than 10:1. Students and counselors live in the campus residence hall and eat in the campus dining room.
