Mansfield University has expanded gifted camp to include a week for high school students who wish to continue to have the opportunity to engage in an exciting, stimulating environment to improve their academic talents.

The concept behind this high school program is to make learning fun and easy and provide positive peer support in a supportive educational environment. The classes held this week will be more challenging and demanding.

Our Staff: Our instructors are college professors, public school teachers, or professionals with expertise and a sincere interest in working with children. Counselors spend 24 hours a day with the campers. Our 1-10 ratio of counselors provides a safe, educational experience. Campers reside in a residence hall at Mansfield University.

Your child will choose three academic offerings from a variety of classes. "Click here" to review the course offerings. Parents and friends are welcome to attend the capstone play performed by the students at the conclusion of each week of camp.

Meet Your Director

Chris Reed returns as the director of Gifted Camp for the second year. He received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Lycoming College, and his Master's in Education with a concentration in Mathematics from Mansfield University. He is currently teaching part-time at Lycoming College and Pennsylvania College of Technology.
